Lunch seminar: Communicating clearly and convincingly (Tim 'T Joncke)
Communicating clearly and convincingly with an expert in public speaking.
(THIS SESSION WILL BE IN DUTCH ONLY)
- Defending your bachelor's thesis
- A team meeting where you want to propose something
- A discussion with a friend
- What do these three have in common?
Your success in each of these situations will depend on the extent to which you can convey your ideas clearly and convincingly.
But how do you do this?
During this interactive lunch session, we will discuss:
- three questions to consider in order to make your presentation as interesting and relevant as possible for your audience
- three principles for a strong start
- three ways to make smooth transitions in the middle of your presentation
- three ideas for an impactful ending
We will provide lunch :)
This session will take place at UCLL Campus Gasthuisberg but is open to all young people interested in the topic. Please note that the session will be in Dutch only. The activity is free of charge, but registration is required.
Who is the trainer?
As someone who stutters but is also an enthusiastic chatterbox, speaking in all its facets has been quite an adventure for Tim 'T Joncke.
By chance, he ended up in the global American public speaking organization Toastmasters, where he was a member for six years.
To cut a long story short, his tally currently stands at:
- 150+ speeches and presentations given to audiences of 5 to 500 people
- 35+ communication and public speaking workshops given
- 15+ individuals coached, three of whom won gold medals at national and international competitions with their pitches
