LUCA Jazz Showcase + paneltalk

Together with the LUCA Jazz, LEJON is organising an evening where live music and insights from the professional field come together. Four bands from the programme will present themselves during a showcase, interspersed with a panel discussion for musicians who want to grow towards the professional circuit.

The panel, moderated by VI.BE, will bring together different perspectives from the sector: Gert-Jan Dreessen, Gilles Dierickx and Maaike Wuyts (Aubergine Artist Management) and Bart Vanvoorden (NONA arts centre). Drawing on their experience as bookers, managers and programmers, they will discuss how to develop a strong live strategy as a band.

What will be discussed? How do you build a sustainable career as a live band? How do you work with bookers and programmers? What do organisations look for when selecting artists? And how do you position yourself as a young musician within the current music landscape?
